Let me just start off by saying, the cover of this book is stunning. Look at it! A girl in a wedding gown in PARIS? Sign me up. 👰🏻♀️
Having dreamed of a wedding in Paris, 🌃France my whole life this book was everything I needed to live my fantasy since I’m no where close to getting married. Not even dating currently. Don’t worry I’m not gonna bore you with the details of my non existent love life. 🫀Although, this book was exactly what I needed.
The story follows three generations of women. The grandmother who was a wedding dress seamstress in France in the early 1920’s, the mother who wore The Grace Kelly inspired dress at a wedding she really didn’t want to attend since she couldn’t marry her true love and found out something devastating news about her sisters death, then it falls to the modern day daughter who wants nothing to do with this dress that is now a family heirloom. 👗
As the story bounces between all these ladies stories with the dress, there’s so many different types of love. It begins with a romantic love then into sibling love and transitions in the end to familial love, regardless of who wears the dress.
This heartwarming story creates different points of what the dress means to each woman. Similar to the Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants, this dress goes through the different hardships in life and each leading lady clings onto it as a sign of hope.
Being an all time fan of Grace Kelly how could I not read this book? Each story brought out a different situation that posed a challenge upon romantic relations. However in the end as each generation celebrated the wedding together, there was a lot of love brought by one single dress.
If you’re looking for a light and sentimental read this one is for you! Definitely a go to read since every girl understands the value of a perfect wedding dress. 👑
